Lucy Zepeda - Executive Director
This is Lucy's eighth year at Oasis. She attended Hartnell Community College and received her Associates Degree. She then transferred to California State University Monterey Bay and received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Kinesiology. She completed the teacher credential program through Cal State Teach-Monterey Bay. She also has a Master's degree in Educational Leadership for Cal State San Marcos and also holds an Administrative Services Credential. She was a teacher at Oasis for four years. After 4 years of teaching at Oasis, the opportunity to be the Academic Coach presented itself. Lucy was the Academic Coach for Oasis for the last three school years Last spring, Lucy began to support administration and became the Assistant Director for Oasis. She loves and believes in the Oasis community. Lucy is happily married and has one son, and two daughters. During her spare time, she spends quality time with her children, and enjoys going on hikes and running, and loves watching movies and reading. Lucy is excited to start this school year as the Interim Director for Oasis. She wants to support the students, teachers, and parents in making growth and to be successful.
Brianna - Academic Coach
I am so excited to be back in the Oasis community again this year! I have spent the last two years teaching 6th grade in Monterey. Previously, I taught 4th, 5th, and 2nd grade, in addition to assisting with 1st-5th grade in a Resource classroom. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. In addition, I also earned my Master’s Degree in Education and Curriculum Development and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential there. I love spending time with my husband of 11 years and our rescued fur kids, which include our 17 year old cat and 10 year old Pit Bull/Boxer mix. I also love baking sweets, volunteering in animal rescue, cooking with my husband, reading books,crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
Omar Cruz - Counselor
Hello! My name is Omar Cruz. This is my first year providing counseling services to students at Oasis. I was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. After graduating from UCSB, I enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned my Master of Arts in Social Welfare. I have been serving as a counselor at schools and a mental health clinic since 2014. I enjoy working out, playing video games and spending time with my family/friends during my free time. I am looking forward towards serving the student population at Oasis to ensure their emotional needs are being met!
