katelyngaines@oasischarterschool.org

My name is Katelyn Gaines. This is my first year teaching in my own classroom and my first year at Oasis. I graduated from CSU, Monterey Bay in December of 2017 with my BA in Liberal Studies and a Minor in Literature. I am currently in the CSUMB Intern Credential Program and will be taking classes at night while I work on completing my credential. When I am not at school, I love spending time outside and doing fun activities like kayaking or fishing. I also enjoy spending time with my family, BBQing, and watching movies with a big bowl of popcorn! Some of my favorite things include the color blue, owls, pineapples, dinosaurs, and rainbow sprinkles. I am excited to be a part of the Oasis team and cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us!

My name is Katie Williams and I am excited to be the new Kindergarten teacher at Oasis Charter School. This will be my second year in Kinder and my fourth year in the classroom. Kindergarten is a very special grade, I love teaching it because everything is still brand new to them and the excitement in their eyes is priceless. I graduated from CSUMB with a bachelor's in liberal studies in 2014 and I am due to graduate from Cal State Teach with my credentials in the fall of 2019. I am the mother to a beautiful little boy named Sammy and fur mom to my dog, Clyde. My fiancé and I enjoy hiking together, going on bike rides and traveling. I am a passionate about animals and hope to open an animal rescue when I retire.

Teacher Sharon- Sea Star Room First Grade

sharonagduyeng@oasischarterschool.org

My name is Sharon Agduyeng. I was born and raised in Hawaii and came to California to attend San Jose State University.  I earned my BS at SJSU and completed the credential program at Cal State University of Monterey Bay. I’ve taught for a year and half before coming here to Oasis.  A little bit about myself is that I am the youngest of three girls in my family. I have a two year old son who’s name is Zane. And my interests include volleyball, running, and kickboxing.  I like to bake in my spare time. And shopping for shoes, clothes, and household goods is my therapy.  Some fun facts about myelself is that I don’t own a television (haven’t had one for over 6 years), I don’t know how to swim even though I grew up on an island, and I don’t know how to use chopsticks even though I have been working in a Japanese restaurant for over 4 years.  Last, I chose to teach because I want to work with young kids and make a difference and I look forward to bringing lots of joy and creativity into our school. I’m looking forward to learning lots of new faces and names and to keep things exciting this year.
