2nd Grade Classroom Aide

My name is Alexcia Ortiz, but to the kiddos I am Teacher Lexi 😀 This is my first year at Oasis Charter Elementary. Salinas has been my home since I was three, but Sacramento has been my home for the past six years as I studied History with the intent of teaching middle school grade levels. (However, I think that changed since I’m loving lower grades) 😉 I am expected to receive my BA in History with a minor in Greek History and concentration in Education in Fall 2020 *wooo* Being at Oasis has been the best time and I’m very glad to be here. To be able to broaden not only my mind on scholarly fun but seeing young scholars excel has been one of the most beneficial things I have yet to witness. You can catch me at recess playing tag or hanging out in 1st and 2nd grade classrooms where we are conquering one 1+1 at a time. OH HEY catch me doing yearbook stuff with what the kiddos which they like to call my camera “cammy” so if you see me shooting my shots, say cheese! Also, I have a dog her name is Lily Doe because I love Harry Potter. Also I love reading, taking photos & editing them, and hanging out with your kiddos, because they are great. Thanks! 😀

ELD Teacher

My name is Sharon-Charlene Agduyeng. This will be my third year at Oasis but first year teaching ELD. I am a proud mother of a 4 year old named Zane. We like to hang out with friends and family, go on hikes, ride our bikes, play board games, and cuddle each other. I graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice and prepared for my teaching career through CalStateTEACH through California State University of Monterey Bay. I grew up in a small town called Wahiawa on the island of Oahu. I moved away from Hawaii after high school and have lived in California ever since. My favorite things to do when I’m not teaching are running and playing volleyball, enjoying fruit smoothies, and I am passionate about ensuring that everyone is treated with love. I enjoy having conversations with everyone and I can’t wait to get to know you and your family.

Specialized Instruction Teacher

This is Chianelle Flores-Marti the Resource Specialist/Special Education Coordinator. This is her fourth year at Oasis Charter Public School but her 6th year teaching Special Education. She was born and raised in Visalia and received her A.A. Degree in Sign language from Monterey Peninsula College while playing softball. She then received a full scholarship to Oklahoma Baptist University for softball (pitcher) where she graduated in 2013 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary K-8 Education and Special Education Mild/Moderate. She received her credentials in Elementary Ed K-8/Special Ed Mild/Moderate at the same time she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Oklahoma. She came back to the area to live and start a life with her husband since this area is so beautiful and has the best weather. When not teaching, she is spending most of her time with her new addition, her son, Giovanni. Also, she enjoys coaching softball, working out, taking her dog for walks, lounging with her animals and husband, visiting family, going to beach, going to sporting events, traveling(when she can), and watching a lot of movies.

Reading Intervention

My name is Rosaura Garcia. I was born in Mexicali, Baja California. I love to read, ride bikes, and this summer, I learned how to ride scooters! I am married and have a daughter here at Oasis. What I like the most about being at Oasis is to be with children and learn with them as well. In 1995 I got my B.A in Psychology at the University Autonomous of Baja California. As psychologist I worked in private practice with teenagers and adults for about 10 years, and as teacher for the Office of Education Affairs in Mexico (SEP). I came to the United States in February of 2005, and that year I started learning English at Salinas Adult School. The following year I was taking classes at Hartnell College! Now, I have accomplished my goal of speaking English as my second language (still learning!) and receiving my foreign education equivalency. I’m looking forward to having a Masters Degree. Happy to be here!

Physical Education

My name is Stephen Rocha and this is my fifth year here at Oasis Charter School. My hometown is Visalia, Ca and I moved to Marina, Ca to study Kinesiology at CSUMB. I graduated with honors and a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in spring of 2015. I hold a Certification for Personal Training from American College of Sports Medicine. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Alexis, since May of 2014. I love sports since I was born. I play everything basketball, tennis, volleyball, soccer, baseball, football, disc golf etc. My special interests are juggling, unicycling, and chess. I’m very excited for the new year and to teach many new games to all my students.
