Classroom Aide Claudia M.
Hi, my name is Claudia Murillo this will be my 2nd year working at Oasis. I graduated with my AA in 2013 and studied for Medical Administration. After working here I started getting back to my Art skills that I had put to the side. I do most of the decorations for the school and paint with the amazing kids at this school. I will continue working on my education and hopefully get on the road to becoming a Art Teacher. On my free time I like to paint, listen to music, be with family and friends, visit new places and go on adventures. I enjoy being part of the school and bringing out the talent of art in the kids because I know many are very artistic. I enjoy working everyday at Oasis because I learn as much as the kids do.
Specialty Teachers and Staff
Specialized Instruction Teacher- Chianelle
This is Chianelle Flores-Marti the Resource Specialist/Special Education Coordinator. This is her third year at Oasis Charter Public School but her 5th year teaching Special Education. She was born and raised in Visalia and received her A.A. Degree in Sign language from Monterey Peninsula College while playing softball. She then received a full scholarship to Oklahoma Baptist University for softball (pitcher) where she graduated in 2013 with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary K-8 Education and Special Education Mild/Moderate. She received her credentials in Elementary Ed K-8/Special Ed Mild/Moderate at the same time she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Oklahoma. She came back to the area to live and start a life with her husband since this area is so beautiful and has the best weather. When not teaching, she is coaching softball for a Travel-Ball Team in Monterey, doing lessons, and getting her home ready for a new born boy. Her hobbies including working out, taking her dog for walks, lounging with her animals and husband, visiting family, going to beach, going to sporting events, traveling(when she can), and watching a lot of movies.
Reading Intervention instructor- Rosaura
My name is Rosaura Garcia. I was born in Mexicali, Baja California. I love to read, ride bikes, and this summer, I learned how to ride scooters! I am married and have a daughter here at Oasis. What I like the most about being at Oasis is to be with children and learn with them as well. In 1995 I got my B.A in Psychology at the University Autonomous of Baja California. As psychologist I worked in private practice with teenagers and adults for about 10 years, and as teacher for the Office of Education Affairs in Mexico (SEP). I came to the United States in February of 2005, and that year I started learning English at Salinas Adult School. The following year I was taking classes at Hartnell College! Now, I have accomplished my goal of speaking English as my second language (still learning!) and receiving my foreign education equivalency. I'm looking forward to having a Masters Degree. Happy to be here!
Physical Education- Stephen
My name is Stephen Rocha and this is my second year here at Oasis Charter School. My hometown is Visalia, Ca and I moved to Marina, Ca to study Kinesiology at CSUMB. I graduated with honors and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in spring of 2015. I hold a Certification for Personal Training from American College of Sports Medicine. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Alexis, since May of 2014. I love sports since I was born. I play everything basketball, tennis, volleyball, soccer, baseball, football, disc golf etc. My special interests are juggling, unicycling, and chess. I'm very excited for the new year and to teach many new games to all my students.
English Language Development- Lisa
My name is Lisa and this is my first year teaching ELD (English Language Development) here at Oasis. I've taught for 20 years here in the Central Valley at the Elementary and College level. I prefer the Elementary level because students tap into their imaginations more and think 'outside the box' to explore new and inventive ways of solving problems and issues. My vision as an educator is to utilize children's natural talents to develop their English language proficiency in a fun and exciting way (using Science and Social issues as backdrops). I have a passion for Environmental Education, Social Justice, and Animal Advocacy. Come visit me in the Puffer fish room. Aloha, Lisa :-)
